Ideas for Peace Series – The role of the United Nations in Venezuela

Venezuela is going through one of the most complicated crises in the world. There is a constant and progressive deterioration of the legal and political institutions and the economic situation; which has increased social inequalities and poverty. Considering this situation, and in order to achieve sustainable peace in the country, it is essential to look for solutions that can stabilize social, political, economic, and humanitarian conditions. It is important to consider the root causes of the crisis and design solutions that can address them.

In order to find those solutions, in April 2021 the University for Peace and the Center for Justice and Peace (CEPAZ) made a call for papers to analyze the role of the United Nations in the Venezuelan crisis, and this issue of Ideas for Peace Series presents the best articles.
